Description
The Cedarburg School District seeks a highly dedicated and effective Director of Student Services and Special Education who is committed to continuous improvement and best practice. Excellent communication, time-management and organizational skills are essential for this position. This position is responsible for all aspects (administration, evaluation and coordination) of the District's Special Education and Student Services programs and must have a comprehensive knowledge of all federal and state district compliance requirements under the IDEA, ADA and Section 504. The ideal candidate will also be able to provide strong leadership and vision for the district’s comprehensive school psychology and school counselor programs and can work collaboratively with building principals to ensure implementation of these programs.
The ability to ensure quality learning opportunities that result in the highest levels of student ownership, achievement and growth is required. We strive to hire administrators who are determined to see all students succeed, reflective of their practice, cognizant of their mindset and results-orientated. Applicants must be committed to continuous improvement and skilled at fostering mutually respectful relationships with students, parents, colleagues and community members. We look for individuals whose creativity, curiosity, enthusiasm and professionalism are contagious.
Applicants must possess the requisite knowledge and skills to provide true collaborative leadership while demonstrating the most positive of attitudes. Candidates must be adept at working with colleagues throughout the District to develop integrated and complementary approaches to meet the needs of students.
The ability to engage in professional discourse while striving for consensus is necessary. A tireless work ethic and sense of humor are requisites for the position. Apply if you are passionate about working in a highly regarded, fast-paced learning community where students’ needs come first.

The city has access to all that metropolitan Milwaukee offers, including national retailers and a regional hospital, while also offering its own highly popular seasonal festivals, amazing parks, bike trails and the nearby beautiful Lake Michigan shoreline. German Immigrants in the 1800s used the native limestone to build homes, churches & stores, many of which are used today as municipal buildings, bed and breakfasts, museums and art galleries – earning a designation on the National Register of Historic Places. The Cedarburg School District is one of the highest performing districts in the state with outstanding staff and facilities. Parent/community support is stellar.
